©Love was in the air© In the early 60’s the Harbour View family was born, and believe it or not, the spirit of that family is still around and continues to grow after 40+ years. This was clearly evident in the gathering we had last June. The reunion organized by a group of diligent "Harbour Zooites" was a complete success, way beyond anyone’s imagination. Last year (2003) on the weekend on June 27…Love was in the air! That weekend marked the first Harbour View reunion. From far and wide, people came with their family to celebrate and reminisce about an era. They came with Love, Anticipation, Smiles, and an Eagerness to renew past friendships. The family was back together again. It was wonderful!!!! There is no censure in a loving family, just acceptance of each and very one. We have all changed in some aspect…we have grown, matured, experienced many of life’s trials- good and bad- but, a joy to see and be a part of, was the way we all welcomed each other back into our lives as if 30 years had not gone by. It was as if we were still at the #2 bus stop, or at Sunday mass at St Benedict’s church, or at an Harbour View football match…walking home together when the Flour Mill came down during our many tropical storms….street dance at shopping center….day party at somebody’s home during the summer months, or just hanging out at Kent Pharmacy soda fountain….the occasions we gathered together as one, are numerous. That weekend was a rejuvenation of what was and a precursor of what will be in the future. Life is a circle…and the reunion last year clearly verified this…we have closed the loop …we started out life together…went on our chosen path…. And, here we are, back together again. We want to keep that circle going and growing. That spirit of being part of a family, community, and group is still alive and kicking---we want to keep it going. So, let’s do it again in 2004…Bigger and better!! The Reunion Committee is asking everyone to keep the following dates open for our 2004 reunion 7/16 & 7/17. Location will be the Florida area, more information will follow. Lets’ keep the Love going and growing!
