St. Boniface by the Sea
Rip-roaring tides belie
the fact
That a short distance from
its foaming banks
Stands a building humble
and Serene
With cathedral roof and
simple wooden doors
Painted in delicate
shades, so soothing to the eyes.
To its front, proudly
stand a cross
A reminder to all – The
Atonement of Our Sins.
Nestling between the
Caribbean Sea and busy streets
Is St. Boniface, St.
Boniface by the Sea.
Her Rector, he is oh so dear
Sometimes firm but dearly
loved
By his congregation, young
and old.
On entering this little
Church
Peace and serenity enfolds
and calm the soul
The friendly smiling faces
the stranger meets
A kindly welcome like a
banner greets.
Saying, friend
Happy welcome to St.
Boniface by the Sea.
Up to the front her ALTAR
proudly stands
With two tall candles
brightly lit.
The Chalice with its
contents and plate with host
The HOLY BIBLE at its
stately post
Behind, young Acolytes, both
boy and girl
And our Rector humbly wait
As the congregation kneels,
he serves Communion
A reminder of the “Body and
Blood” of Christ
Of his death on the cross
for all our sins.
This Holy ceremony is over,
and
Here comes the children all
excited
To kneel at the ALTAR as
their parents did.
“The blessing of God be
upon you”, our Rector says
As he warmly and gently
touches each head
Jesus loves the little
children the congregation chants
Until each is blessed.
Do you feel it?
The warmth, the Holiness,
the serenity!
I do, you will too!
